The situation
The owners had bought the property with a conservatory roof installed by the previous homeowner. Its polycarbonate roof met both an older pitched roof and a lean-to roof at the house.
The roof was leaking in several places and the room was damp. CSM found trapped water when the existing insulated roof was stripped.
What CSM did
CSM measured the roof and offered two options: replace the conservatory roof while retaining its connections to the adjoining tiled roofs, or remove those tiled roof sections and have a replacement warm roof made to extend back to the main house. The homeowner chose the second option.
A particular challenge
The combination of roof sections made the work more involved. CSM opened up the tiled roof sections during the survey to check the proposed arrangement, then removed the old roofs and insulation before fitting the replacement roof.
The result
The replacement roof extends back to the main house, replacing the previous arrangement of separate roof sections and their junctions.
